Stuttgart – The nearby State Capital

Nestled in one of the largest wine-growing regions in Germany, Stuttgart, the state capital of Baden-Württemberg fascinates visitors from all over the world. The pulsing metropolis not only inspires with its beautiful panorama and numerous tourist attractions, but also with its cultural diversity and range of high-quality international sports events (e.g. World Championships in Athletics 1993, FIFA World Cup 2006, UEFA Euro 2024 or the annual horse show ‘Stuttgart German Masters’).

Cars are often the first thing that people think of when Stuttgart is mentioned. The Mercedes-Benz Museum and the Porsche Museum illustrate the development of the car in a fascinating way. Interesting exhibitions are also shown in the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, one of the most visited art museums in Germany, or in the Linden-Museum, one of Europe's leading museums of ethnology. A jewel for all fans of architecture is the internationally renowned Weissenhofsiedlung with a museum in the Haus Le Corbusier (UNESCO World Heritage). The Wilhelma, the only zoological and botanical gardens in Germany, is an experience for the whole family. Performances by the Stuttgart Ballet and the State Opera in the magnificent opera house are also world-famous. Fantastic musicals are performed in the SI-Erlebnis-Centrum and great concerts e.g. in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. Or why not simply while away the night in the city's many bars and clubs? Festivals such as the Cannstatter Volksfest and the Christmas market show the state capital to be a charming host. The Königsstrasse, the Market Hall and various shopping malls offer shopping to your heart's content.
